An incomplete cast copper-alloy leg from a cooking vessel. The leg is broadly rectangular with a D-shaped cross section. The front is has three wide longitudinal ridges below a thick transverse collar. Above the collar are four sharper, narrower longitudinal ridges, two on either side flanking a wider central ridge to the break. The base of the foot is smoothed and worn.
Date: Medieval to Post Medieval - c.1200-1700 AD.

Crudely made cast copper-alloy vessels such as cauldrons and skillets were widely used from c.1200-1700 for serving and cooking. Butler et al. (2009:4) suggest there were four main types of leg used.
