A complete lead spindle whorl of unknown exact date ( c.AD43-1700) A large number of this type of spindle whorl have been recorded on the PAS database dated from the Roman to Medieval periods. The object is roughly conical in shape with a flat base and a circular perferation truncating the centre of the object. The overall dimensions are as follows weight 35.06grams. diameter is 29mm. thickness is 13mm and the diameter of the hole is 7mm.
