A cast copper-alloy single loop buckle frame dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1250-1400). The buckle frame is oval in shape with an ornate outer edges and a narrow offset strap bar. The outside edge is trapezoidal in shape with a notched lip flanked by two pairs of transverse knops. The top and bottom edges of the loop are sub-square in cross-section. The strap bar is square in cross-section, with an off-centre notch. The underside of the top, bottom and outside edges are bevelled and undecorated. The buckle measures 22mm in length, 18mm in width and 4mm thick. It weighs 3.1 grams. See Whitehead 1996, Buckles 1250-1800, p. 22 no. 89 for a similar example.
