A complete cast copper-alloy strap-slide dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1150-1400). The strap side is trapezoidal in shape and flat with a bent upper edge and an internal pointed projection either side. All surfaces of the frame are plain with minor scratches and abrasions in several areas. The strap-slide is 24mm long, 15mm wide and 3mm thick. It weighs 2.5 grams.
See Egan and Pritchard 1991, no. 1254, as well as SF4239 on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database, for similar examples from London and Suffolk respectively, parallels of which come from 12th to late 14th century contexts.
