An incomplete Early medieval copper alloy 'Norse' bell. The object is triangular in form and hexagonal in cross section, being formed of six triangular panels each terminating with a knop at the corner. The apex is incomplete and has a moulded collar. The triangular panels are covered with fine horizontal scratches or grooves.
This type of bell is described as a 'Norse' bell because of their association with Scandinavian sites and date to the period 900-1100. Similar examples include NLM-0A3A38 and LIN-C65B75.
