Lead conical weight of uncertain date, probably within the range c. 43 - 1750 AD. The weight has a flat, circular bottom face and sides that angle inwards. The surface is marked and ridged. The object has a light-brown patina. It is 36.64mm in length, 30.54mm in diameter and weighs 132.06g.
Lead weights are difficult to date precisely without archaeological context. Similar examples of this type of weight are recorded on the database, often with an iron suspension loop, including LANCUM-8AB064, KENT-AD5BF4 and LEIC-9FF3C7. These are given various date ranges from the Roman to post-medieval period.
