A fragment of a copper alloy, Early Medieval, small long brooch, AD.500-600. The object comprises the foot and catchplate of the brooch, with a part of the bow remaining. The foot is triangular in shape and flattened. There are three incised lines across the foot with a series of five indentations forming a rounded serration along the base edge. At the apex of the triangle the brooch arches up to form the bow, however, there is a break that is old and worn. On the underside of the brooch there is a catchplate, integrally cast and form of rolled copper alloy.
