A copper-alloy Roman furniture fitting, dating to AD 43-410. It has a conical shape with an elongated apex, which ends in a flattened knob. There is a circumferential groove at the apex and at the base of the fitting. The base bears traces of the sub-rectangular cross-sectioned iron shank still inserted into it; the base is covered by iron corrosion product.
