A very worn and clipped silver sixpence of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603) dating to 1582. Obverse: crowned bust facing left, probably with rose behind. Reverse: shield on long cross fourchée with 1582 above. Both the obverse and reverse legends are heavily clipped. Probably Tower of London mint. The flan is bent inwards on the obverse along an axis of 12 to 6 o'clock.
