A copper alloy Roman brooch, Maxey bow and fantail type dating to AD 50-150 with a tinned surface. Complete with catchplate and spring but missing pin. The wings are semi-cylindrical and undecorated and a double pierced lug holds the axis bar and spring cord. The bow has three parallel ridges along the spine. The foot flares out to 10.8mm wide, has a moulded linear border surrounding an inner border of dot decoration and joins the bow at a moulded transverse ridge.

As Hattatt (2000), p314. Very similar examples on the database include SF-CB0147.
