A Post Medieval lead alloy cloth seal dating from AD 1600-1620. This is one disk from a four-disc cloth seal. A similar seal is illustrated in Elton (2017:303). The obverse has the Arms of the town of Wesel, an ornate shield bearing three weasels courant, central inescutcheon, MEMENTO.MORI around. The reverse is blank and undecorated. Part of a second inner disk is present. Elton (2017:303) writes "The other inner disk may show two crowned B's (see MOL NN21187) possibly standing for Bombazine (a mix of silk-warp and worsted weft, twilled fabric)."
