Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Copper alloy mount. Cast discoid mount with a central sub-rectangular concavo-convex boss and four equidistantly distributed fixing points of diameter 3.5mm around its edge. Indeterminate moulded detail appears on the central boss, including straight and bowed lines, and short radially incised lines appear to have followed the curving edge as a border. Three of the fixing points are torn, presumably by the rough removal of the object from its setting. Abraded. Suggested date: Late Medieval, 1350-1400

Diameter: 25.7mm, Height (i.e. protrusion): 3.4mm, Thickness: 1mm, Weight: 3.55gms
