An incomplete copper alloy post-medieval harness fitting (c. 1500-1900). The object is in two pieces and is missing a fragment of uncertain size from one end. The object is domed, with the front convex and the reverse concave. It is broadly oval in shape with a scalloped edge. It has eleven distinct ribs in relief, on the front surface of the shell, which run from the narrow broken end of the object and curve outwards towards the edges. Each rib terminates in a rounded knob protruding beyond edge of the object. A short bar with circular ends sits transversely across the centre of these ribs. Overall, the decoration has a floral appearance, like a bunch of flowers.
The reverse is concave and has the remains of four attachment lugs.
