One arm of a copper alloy purse bar dating to c.1450-1500 of Ward Perkins type A2. The bar has a thin oval cross section, it tapers to a narrow circular sectioned knop. There are traces of two integral pierced lobes on the lower edge of the arm for attachment of a leather or fabric purse, one is almost complete. Both faces of the arm show traces of decoration, possibly an inscription or blundered lettering and vertical lines of inlay (probably niello) now illegible.
