An incomplete cast copper-alloy drawer handle dating to the Post-Medieval period (c. AD 1700-1800). The handle is broadly trefoil in shape and would have had a rectangular suspension loop which is now broken and missing. The pull or handle is decorated with a central moulded head, possibly of a cherub, with an extended neck connecting to a body at the base with wings either side which is surrounded by scrolls. The underside is flat and undecorated, with a square-sectioned iron rivet in the centre. The handle would have been attached to a similarly decorated escutcheon that would have attached to the drawer of a chest or bureau. The drawer handle is 36mm in length, 43mm in width, 4mm thick and weighs 12.64 grams.
Read (1988, p. 203, no. 1423) illustrates a similar cherub, stem and wings motif on an 18th century drawer handle, while similar examples are is also recorded on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database from Hampshire (SUSS-2C730C) and Cornwall (CORN-5D2E58).
