A complete lead-alloy possible candle snuffer of Post-Medieval date, c.1600 - 1800. The object is conical with a rounded top and open base. It is hollow roughly mid-way in to the interior. The outer surface is decorated with three bands of three parallel circumferential ribs. Casting seams are present running along either side of the object with an applied semi-circular handle set on one, close to the rounded top.
The metal has a mid-grey patina and is worn. The object is 36mm long, 16.3mm in diameter at the open end, 13.3mm in width with the handle and weighs 24.2g.
Similar objects have been recorded as SUSS-59A0D2 and HESH-0C8BD4.
