A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy and glass 'fob' seal matrix (c. 1700-c. 1800).
The handle has a broadly semi-globular openwork arch made up of moulded scrolls with a suspension loop above, which is attached to a moulded collar surrounding the die. The collar is decorated with a raised abstract foliate design. The off-white translucent glass die is oval in plan and has been cut with alternating facets on the bevelled rim. The glass has also been cut overall with multiple facets on its rear face. The face of the die is flat and has not been inscribed to make an impression. Consequently, the die may have been reused from a piece of jewellery.
The copper-alloy is green with traces of gilding.
