An incomplete copper-alloy brooch of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 400 - 600. Probably a small-long type brooch. The head is sub-rectangular with much of the original edge being lost to old, worn breaks and a single semi-circular lug projecting from the reverse.
From the centre of the lower edge of the head a D-sectioned arched bow extends terminating in a worn break. A raised ribbed collar is present at the junction of the head and the bow.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The brooch is 34.8mm long, 17.9mm wide, 4.9mm thick and weighs 12.2g.
Similar example are illustrated on EEA 84 (1998), including p.144, fig.28, no.1 from Eriswell, Suffolk and p.132, fig.16, no.5 from Carlton Colville, Suffolk.
