An incomplete silver Scottish Briots issue twenty pence of the Post Medieval period from the reign of Charles I (AD1625-1649).
Obverse description: Crowned bust left, XX behind.
Obverse inscription: CAR D G MAG BR [FR ET HI REX].
Reverse description: Single flower thistle with crown above.
Reverse inscription: [IVSTI]TIA THRONVM FI[RMAT].
The coin is in a very poor condition with a great deal of wear on both faces obscuring many details of identification. Roughly a third is missing losing much of the inscriptions; it has been bent and almost split on an oblique angle..
