An cast copper-alloy double loop sub-annular buckle frame dating to the Post-Medieval period (c. AD 1650-1720). The buckle frame is roughly oval shape and D-shaped in section, consisting of ten moulded roundels and a wavy outside edge. The underside of the frame is slightly concave and undecorated. The pin, which would have attached to the narrowed and slightly recessed strap bar, which has patches of iron corrosion, is missing. The frame measures 26.5mm in length, 24mm in width and 3.5mm in thickness. It weighs 5.04 grams. Similar in shape to Whitehead 1996, Buckles 1250-1800, p. 49, no. 282.
