A cast copper alloy Early Medieval ( AD 10th -11th century, Anglo Saxon) horse harness, bridle fitting.
Description: The object is a double ended link joining two knobbed loops, one larger (27.7mm x 5.25mm) than the other (22.39mm x 4.5mm). There is centrally placed boss on the D-shaped linking arm.. Both loop ends are incomplete, missing the outer terminal at historic breaks, the inner voids are ovoid. the fitting appears to be undecorated. the rear surface is flat, except at the boss which is concave on the back.
