A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Headstud Type, dating to AD 75-250. It is the head and the upper part of the bow of the brooch. The head consists of two cylindrical wings, which still house the copper-alloy bar; the central slot on the back face retains a fragment of the hinged pin-loop. The top of the head has fragments of the chain loop. The bow has a sub-rectangular cross-section and bears a stud on the front face; the stud is heavily worn. The back face of the bow is slightly concave.
