An incomplete and bent Post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle with missing pin. The frame is rectangular in cross section with the outside ends of each loop formed into a triangle and bevelled externally on the upper face. There are lobed protrusions on each side at the extension of the central strap bar. Both faces are plain but there is substantial remains of a whitemetal coating. Similar buckles have been published in Whitehead 2003. 'Buckles 1250-1800', 82, refs: 512, 513. These have been dated by Whitehead to circa AD1620-1680.
