An Early Medieval to Medieval copper alloy stirrup strap mount of Williams' (1997) Class A, type 11A, probably dating to c. AD 1000-1100. The mount consists of a sub-triangular plate, with a trilobed apex consisting of two scrolled volutes flanking the apex loop, now lost. The plate is decorated with a finely detailed lion, in relatively high relief, standing left with right forepaw raised, looking upwards with mouth open, and tail curving between its legs and over its back. The base of the plate features two circular perforations, with a small, right angled flange projecting from the reverse.
