A post-Medieval copper alloy strap slide, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1700. The strap slide consists of a symmetrical plate with a central sub-square element with three sub-parallel flanged transverse points, with this flanked by a narrowed waist and expanded douuble standed collar on either side. From the reverse two integral prongs project outwards curving to form a sub-rectangular loop. The strap slide is damaged, giving the plate a concave profile.

Dimensions: Length 28.3mm; width 11.0mm; thickness 11.2mm; weight 3.49g.

The strap slide is of a form typical of early Post-medieval strap fittings, it's decoration can be compared to other elements such as toggles (e.g. DEV-98E7D3) and it presumably formed part of the same set. cf. SOM-9EC1E7 and other examples on this database.
