A fragment of a copper alloy probable pin head of uncertain date (c. AD 43-1700). The fragment is globular in form and concave on one side forming a scoop-like feature. The object has a round collar at its base from which the remains of a cylindrical shank are apparent. The item is undecorated and has a brown patina.

Similar items recorded on the database have been attributed to the head of a Roman pin (NMS-ABAA90), the head of a Post Medieval bodkin (SWYOR-028423) and also recorded as unidentified (LEIC-7CAB26). Owing to the small size of this fragment it is difficult to determine with certainty its original use and date, being comparable to all three of the examples listed above.

The overall dimensions are as follows: 10.57mm in length, 7.34mm in width, 6.4mm in thickness and 1.98g in weight.
