Copper alloy and iron possible door fitting. Fragment of a cast object with a cylindrical solid component and a curved integrally cast hollow part, the latter mostly broken. The cylindrical part has ferrous corrosion trapped between inner and outer rings of copper alloy on that side opposite the projecting part. This is interpreted as the springing of a door handle, formerly seated and turning on an iron bar, and with a lighter curved handle. Probably polished by the finder. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.

Diameter: 13.3mm, Length (as found): 25mm, Thickness: 13.2mm, Weight: 14.99gms
