An incomplete copper-alloy Post Medieval revolving seal matrix, dating to AD 1700-1850. It is oval in plan and bears a circular socket on the top and buttom edge (along the longitudinal axis), in which two hinges attached to a handle were inserted. Both faces bear a die: one face has a laureate and draped bust left and the other face has masonic symbols such as the square and compass in the centre, the level and plumb rule above, two shovels below; in the field there is a possible G and an anvil along with a cog.
For the die see the similar example on the PAS database: NARC-D59BA0. For the type of seal matrix see HAMP-C88186, DENO-712218, SUSS-A69BF1.
