Copper alloy strap end. Composite strap end comprising two straight-sided plates of thickness 0.3mm with an apparently separate square plate of thickness c.1mm brazed to the outermost. This slender block bears closely-spaced if casually executed cross-hatch and has edges rounded by wear; and a tongue-like point protrudes beyond it. A rivet of diameter 1.3mm and length 3mm passes through the inner ends of both plates, to attach them to each other and to the strap. Suggested date: Late Medieval, 1350-1450.
