Copper alloy badge. Concavo-convex die-stamped badge in the form of a bird with forked tail in flight. The finder kindly suggests the species represented to be a swallow. This reporter considers it might rather be a bluebird; probably made as a trinket to promote Bluebird Toffee, made in the West Midlands 1898-1998, and now part of the Hull-based Needlers group. Now bent into a curl with only scars in the hollow back to indicate the former presence of pin gear, though a thin [diameter 0.7mm] drawn wire pin was loose in the bag. Suggested date: Modern, 1900-1960.

Length (as found): 20mm, Height: 25.3mm, Thickness: 1.1mm, Weight: 5.10gms
