Copper alloy possible surgical implement. A cast blade of elongated sub-triangular form, resembling one side of a pair of tweezers, thinned at its broader end and thickened as it narrows, terminating at a small sharp curved rhomboid point. The pointed end might have served as a scoop or pick, though it is now dangerously sharp for this to be attempted. The broader 'tweezer' blade may have had a counterpart, though again, how attached is now unclear. Traces of white metal plating appear on one side of the object. Now bent or curled and approaching an S shape in profile. Suggested date: Unknown, Roman to Medieval, 43-1500.
Length: 40.5mm, Width: 7.3mm, Thickness (midpoint): 1.3mm, Weight: 2.58gms
