An incomplete copper alloy medieval annular brooch, dating to c. AD1270 - 1350. The brooch frame is circular shaped, with an inside bevelled edge. The frame is lozenge shaped in cross section. About a quarter of the frame is missing, and the breaks are worn. Before one of the breaks the frame narrows to a thin bar which is circular in cross section, this is the remains of the pin bar. On the opposite side of the frame is a sub triangular rounded projection, with a narrower neck. In the centre of the projection is a circular perforation. On one side is a oval shaped groove for the terminal end of the pin to sit in. The pin consists of a piece of copper alloy that is curved round the frame in an oval shaped loop. It is loosely attached and can be removed. There is a ridge across the pin after the loop, where the pin becomes wider before narrowing into the terminal point, which is slightly rounded. The pin narrows slightly before the point. It is D shaped in cross section. The brooch and pin have a dark green patina. The brooch measures 65.5mm in length, 58.5mm in width, and 5.1mm in thickness. The pin measures 57.2mm in length, 9.9mm in width, and 2.6mm in thickness. Both weigh 28.05g.

A similar brooch can be seen in Egan and Pritchard 1991, page 254, number 1335.
