Cast copper-alloy medieval strap-slide. It is rectangular, with a small rectangular protrusion on the exterior of one long edge. It has an mottled mid green patina, and measures 15.78mm long, 14.84mm wide, and 2.77mm thick. It weighs 1.09g.
Strap slides were used during the medieval period as a method of holding down loose parts of straps. In Egan and Pritchard (2002) there are similar strap-slides, nos. 1236 and 1239, from contexts dated to the late 13th to 14th centuries (c. 1270-1400).
