Three sherds of Gaulish samian ware, probably dating c. 100-250 AD. The three sherds consist of two base sherds (one with a virtually complete foot-ring) and a body sherd.

1. Body sherd, pinky-orange inner fabric covered by reddish slip. On the outer surface, the stamped design of a dolphin set within a ropework border is visible. Length down longest axis: 43.38mm, thickness at midpoint: 7.4mm. Weight: 9.09g.

2. Base sherd, pinky-orange inner fabric covered by reddish slip which in places has eroded. The inner surface of the sherd demonstrates a central circular panel surrounded by feathered decoration, within which is a potter's stamp: IVCT(?)[...]E. Length down longest axis: 34.54mm, thickness at midpoint: 7.83mm. Weight: 11.17g.

3. Base sherd, light pinky-orange inner fabric covered by reddish orange slip, generally quite fresh condition. This sherd probably originates from a Dragendorff form 80 (cup) vessel based on its small foot-ring and high-angled sides. On the interior of the sherd, a potter's stamp set within a rectangular tablet is visible: PAVIIM. This is the stamp of the potter Passienus, who operated out of La Graufenesque in Southern Gaul. Height (surviving): 23.51mm, wall thickness: 6.11mm, diameter of foot-ring: 40.36mm. Weight: 28.58g.
