Roman copper alloy Hod Hill bow brooch, 25mm in length, 14mm wide and 3mm thick with a weight of 2.12grams.
The brooch is incomplete and consists of a rectangular shaped and cross sectioned bow. This has a wider upper edge with a circular cross section, which houses the pin bar. It has a central rectangular recess to house the pin, now missing. below this the brooch is waisted and then forms a sub-rectangular plate which has a raised horizontal border sitting above a horizontal rounded recess. It tapers in width and is decorated with two narrow vertical ridges running down its centre and terminating just above its foot, which is missing.
