Grey flint knife. A trapezoid flake with broad and narrow flakes struck from its dorsal side, and with a bulb and ripples on its ventral surface. One end may then have received short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect along a curved end. A misty patina then formed over all surfaces, suggesting the object was discarded and endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment. The patina was subsequently removed along one straight edge by short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect. This represents a flake reused after its initial deposition; the Neolithic period could accommodate both the primary and secondary working, though the final retouch was not followed by further patination. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC.
