A complete Awl/Scraper of Mesolithic date (9000-3450 BC). The lithic is sub-rectangular in plan and plano-concave in section. The dorsal surface is flat with four predominant negative scars. The proximal ends are blunted with a small pointed projection situated along the distal right hand edge. The left and right hand edges have fine semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is slightly concave with a small bulb of percussion situated at the distal end with a shallow negative scar situated on the bulb. There are shallow ripples of percussion emanating from the bulb of percussion. There is some minor irregular flaking along the left hand edge.
The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.
The flint is brown in colour with dark grey inclusions throughout.
