A bent and slightly worn silver threepence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Second (North) issue 1561-1582. Mintmark of coronet and dated to '1569'. North (1991, 135) no.1997.
Description: Crowned bust left; rose behind head right. Legend: '+ELIZABETH'D'G'ANG:FR:ET:HI REGINA'. Rev: Long cross fourchee on royal shield surmounted by date '1569'. Legend: '+POS[VI]/DEV,AD/IVTO[RE/M:MEVM'. Coin is worn on the obverse, with a crack behind the head.
Measurements: 19.70mm in diameter, 0.82mm thick and 1.38g in weight.
