An early to middle Neolithic ovate 'laurel leaf like' knife, dating from the period c. 3500-2900 BC. The tool is formed on a mid-orange yellow mottled coloured pieced coarse 'local flint'. In plan the flake is a pointed oval or cordate shape and in cross section it is broadly sub-oval (D-shaped). The tool is formed on a broad blade like flake; the ventral face shows conchoidal ridges and the blade has been struck from a prepared core. The upper / dorsal face shows two parallel ridges. The long edges have been reworked bifacially using both hard and soft hammer being neat and well organised. This reworking is mostly on the dorsal face and can be described as being short sub-parallel semi-abrupt.

The tool measures 47.6mm length, is 27.4mm wide and 6.9mm thick; it weighs 8.93 grams
