Copper-alloy single-looped 'D' shaped Post-Medieval buckle frame, incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. It has concave curved top and bottom sides. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed. The outer side is convex curved with a single lobed knop projecting from the centre, the knop is emphasised by diagonal grooves running across the frame, flanking the inner edges. The reverse is concave, apart from the strap bar. Length: 26.1mm, Width: 22.8mm, Thickness: 2.9mm, Weight: 2.33g.
A very similar example may be seen in Whitehead (2003, 28; ref.145) which he dates to c.AD 1500-1650.
