Small abraded body sherd, probably from a cooking pot or jar of Medieval date, c.1200 to 1450. The fabric appears relatively high fired with a pale orange surface and dark grey core. It has abundent medium sand temper and c.10% poorly sorted angular patinated flink/chert temper up to 2.7mm across. Occasional rounded irregularly shaped iron stone inclusions up to 3.2mm. It is probably a Greensand Derived fabric, local to the Blackdown Hills (Allan et al 2011). The sherd weighs 7.27g.
