A complete but slightly squashed Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy domed ('beehive') closed thimble (c. 1400-c. 1550).
This thimble would have been circular in plan and the thick walls taper inwards from the base towards the crown. There is a plain rim and no manufacturing marks. The outer face has lines of evenly spaced sub-circular indentations/drilled pits encircling from the base to the top. The crown has concentric rings of similar pits.
The outer face of this thimble has a green patina.
