A Roman copper alloy mount in the form of a duck. The ducks head on the mount is facing backwards and is touching its back with its beak. The hoop at the bottom of the mount has broken off 5mm below the body. The perimeters of the wings are perforated with a line of dots. A recessed line divide's the tip of the tail. The dots and recess may have contained enamel. This is an unusual form for a duck mount as the head of the duck is angled backwards facing its tail. The metal worker looks to have tried to portray the bird preening itself.
