A fragment of a copper alloy Roman brooch, comprising the hinge portion, a stump of the bow and the copper alloy pin, which itself is 32.4mm in length and narrows from around 2.3 to 0.7mm thick. The head of the brooch has very narrow shoulders, 12.5mm wide, with a copper alloy hinge spindle. The brooch is decorated with a moulded ridge along the bow and a pair of incised diagonal lines across the shoulders. Circa 1st - 2nd Century AD.
