Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative, rear hook brooch, 39mm in length, 26mm wide and 14mm thick with a weight of 8.99grams.
The brooch consists of semi-circular cross sectioned, rectangular shaped open wings, which are decorated with a group of three vertical ridges on each side, missing its spring and pin. The bow is semi-circular in cross section and is decorated with a ridge flanked by a recess. The bow tapers to a point and houses the remains of a long sub triangular catchplate.
