An incomplete copper-alloy bracelet or armlet of probable Roman date, c.AD 200 - 400. The fragment is sub-rectangular, tapering from a complete terminal to a worn break, with a slightly curved profile. A perforation is present at the terminal end, below which are two triangular cut-outs. The fragment is decorated with a series of irregularly spaced transverse grooves and the reverse is undecorated.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The fragment is 38.1mm long, 5.1mm wide, 1.4mm thick and weighs 1.8g.
Similar examples of bracelets from 3rd - 4th century contexts from Colchester have been published in Crummy (1983), p.42, fig. 44.
