A very worn Post-Medieval copper-alloy trade token farthing Issued during the mid 17th century in the name of Margery Furzer of Deptford then in Kent, dated 1667. Williamson (1889, 359) Kent no.173.

Description: Obverse: Date '1667' between two trefoils of three pellets flanking six petalled flower above and below, Legend: '+MARGERY.FVRZER:', initial mark of six petalled flower. Reverse: 'HIR HALF PENNY' in three lines, flower below. Legend: '+IN.D[EDFO]RD.+.'. Initial marks six petalled​​​​​​​ flower, legend followed by four petal aligned in cross.

Measurements: 18.63mm in diameter, 1.38mm thick and 1.65g in weight.

Discussion: During the mid-17th century (c.1648-1672), due to a shortage of official coins, halfpenny and farthing tokens were issued by private businesses to facilitate small change exchange
