Copper alloy finger ring. Cast narrow band of D section, thickened and expanded at its shoulders where it assumes an angular form, possibly Henig type VIII [8]. Each shoulder forms a shield-shaped panel flanking a central rounded bezel. A line of four or five tiny [diameter 0.6mm] stamped dots runs up the centre of each shoulder, meeting a line of more closely juxtaposed dots at right angles. A further pair of dots appears close to each outer edge of each shoulder, and in one or two cases this is enclosed by a stamped arc. The bezel bears five larger stamped dots of diameter 1mm, arranged as is conventional on a die [i.e. with one central and the others equidistantly spaced around it]. Suggested date: Late Roman, 200-300.
Internal diameter: 17.3mm, Width (at bezel): 7.6mm, Thickness (at springing of shoulder): 2.4mm, Weight: 2.19gms
