A medieval copper alloy seal matrix. The seal has an incomplete collared loop. Below the loop is a solid sphere, from the base of which is a short shank of circular section. The face is circular and is decorated in the centre with a dragon or griffin shown in profile going right (when seen on the impression), with front right claw outstretched. The beast has a large wing and a curving tail. The legend surrounding the beast reads S'Thome(?n)V(?h) (?P or R)O(--)
