Two heavily abraded body sherds Roman Black Burnished Ware vessels (probably BB1, from Wareham/Poole Harbour, Dorset) dating c. AD 75-410. The larger appears to be from an everted rim but the upper part of the rim is lost .
All have are a hard fired, dark grey fabric with occasional brown areas. The fabric contains abundant sub-rounded translucent quartz, <1.5mm, rare sub-angular orange/brown iron stone, <1.5mm and occasional sub-angular white inclusions, <1mm, possibly flint appearing as white flecks, 6g in total weight.
